Cooking instruments: the air fryer, a pan, a few bowls, a whisk, and a hand zester;
Tip: For this delicate dish, it is best if you have an air fryer with a special cooking rack, to make sure that the chicken tenders don’t sit directly on the hot cooking pan and that are surrounded by the heat waves from all sides at once. - 3/4 lbs chicken tenders
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp ollive oil
- salt to taste
- pepper to taste
- the juice from half of lemon
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp corn flour
- the zest from one lemon

- Put the breadcrumbs in a bowl and season with salt, pepper, and olive oil;
- Wash the 2 lemons, use a hand zester to grate one of them and squeeze the juice from both of them;
- Set aside the juice from half of lemon for the chicken tenders and the remaining juice for the lemon sauce;
- Break the eggs and beat them in a bowl, adding the juice from that half of lemon;
- Dilute the tablespoon of corn flour with water and set aside, for the sauce.
- Preheat your air fryer to reach 330◦F;
- Bring the bowl with the seasoned breadcrumbs and the bowl with the beaten eggs;
- Mix the eggs with half cup of all-purpose flour, making sure you’re not getting any lumps;
- Coat the tenders, first with the eggs and flour batter and then with the crumbs;
- Cook in the air fryer, at 330◦F, for 10 minutes, and then, raise the temperature to 390◦F for another 5 minutes;
- Cook in the air fryer, at 330◦F, for 10 minutes, and then, raise the temperature to 390◦F for another 5 minutes;
- Next, add the diluted corn flour and keep stirring until it thickens;
- When the sauce is ready, add the air fried chicken tenders and soak them well in the lemon sauce;
- Serve them hot on a bed of rice.

Try it with a twist:
To give this classic air fried chicken tenders recipe an Asian touch, you can add one tablespoon of soy sauce to the beaten eggs, before you coat the tenders. If you want to skip the sauce with lemon, sugar and flour, you can simply serve them with chili sauce.
