Healthy Crumb Air Fryer Cod With A Lemon Aftertaste

Cooking instruments: air fryer, food processor, cutting board, grater, bowl, tray, whisk

Tip: for this dish, it’s important that you use an air fryer with a metal rack. Especially if you cook a fatty fish, you will want some of that fat to drip into the pan and the fish strips to cook evenly, away from the bottom of the pan. A model like this DELLA 048-GM-48207 air fryer will work perfectly.

  1. Put the fish fillets on a cutting board and portion it into even pieces – pay attention particularly on the thickness;
  2. Place the strips in a bowl and sprinkle the juice from the grated lemon – make sure all pieces are soaked in juice;
  3. Put lemon rind, the corn flakes, the breadcrumbs, the parsley, and the salt and pepper into the food processor;
  4. Take out the finely minced mixture and lay it in a tray – spread it as evenly as possible;
  5. Coat the cod strips in that mixture and then, as suggested above, dip it into the beaten egg;
  6. Cook the fish in the air fryer, for about 15 minutes, at 350° F;
  7. Serve it with chips – healthy, air fryer made chips, of course!

Try it with a twist:
We’ve worked our way to offering you an even lower-caloric recipe by opting for the delicate cod flavor and the crunchiness of corn flakes. If you want, you can try it with a fatty fish, like the catfish, and, why not, with tortilla chips instead of corn flakes.
